This week John is talking to artist Armin Mersmann.

As a youth, Armin was greatly influenced and tutored by his father, Fritz, a successful oil painter.

“I never made the conscious choice to be an artist, it’s just what I did.” —Armin.

He’s worked as a commission portrait artist, a curator, a framer, and several other roles in and around artistic fields.

He teaches drawing, he teaches iPhoneography, and publishes a podcast that he co-hosts with his wife, Valarie, called Art Ladders.
